Would it Work to Include Vendors in a small way?
Jul 31 2009, 9:11 PM EDT | Post edited: Jul 31 2009, 9:11 PM EDT
As an attendee, the technology, blogging, twitter, networking on HR and social networking is the big draw. To meet the people really sharing ideas and information on twitter would be huge fun! But, we'd also be willing to kick in some cash to put up a small table top booth to show our recognition products. How would that benefit the un-conference with a small revenue stream if REAL tweeple vendors could participate? 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

We've talked about this... It may be more of a hassle tax-wise during the first year than we can handle. In future events (longer planning time) we would love to have this kind of thing. Anything to help everyone afford this thing.

We haven't made a final decision, but if you shoot me an email (as a reminder), then I'll let you know when we finally make that tough choice. :-) upstarthr@gmail.com

Lyn, thanks for your interest. As Ben mentioned, if we do this again, it would probably work. For this first time though it will not be an option. I consulted two tax attorneys and we are not prepared to create a business this year so that we can have sponsorship and vendors. We just don't have the time and resources yet. The plan is to keep this year casual and "unconference" like, see how it develops, and grow it next year. Hope you're still interested. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

I'm excited HRevolution seems to have worked out the tax issues and figured out a way to include vendor sponsors! I will be in Louisville in Sept exhibiting in SHRMKY and hope to schedule time with Crystal Peterson to discuss details. I see a keg or two in our future? Do you find this valuable?

Hi Lyn- so are we! After much counsel, we wil be able to have vendors sponsor the HRevolution. We couldn't be happier! We'd love to have Crystal share all the details to date with you- and whether it's over a keg or martini, I'm looking forward to meeting you. Do you find this valuable?

Great Crystal! What fun. I will hook up with you on Linked in if we need to exchange more detail. My business Fusion Frames will be exhibiting at SHRMKY booth #438 and I will be staying at the Marriott. W/Th night. Excited to figure out how to play a part in this as a sponsor and how to participate in the content as a tech addict, HR blogger "wanna-be" and biz owner managing HR issues. @designtwit, @awardframes Do you find this valuable?
